Who Should Apply?

• 
  A student who will be 16 years of age when the initial co-op placement begins
• A student who is enrolled full time and will have completed 16 credits (Grade 10)
• A student who, at the applied or academic level, can maintain strong Math, English and Technology grades and who has a mature attitude and good work ethic.
• A student who has a serious interest in pursuing qualifications in a trade During the selection process, the following criteria will be considered for selection into the Program:
  • A student who has successfully completed the related grade 10 Technology course.
  • Academic performance including success in the grade 10 literacy test.
  • Successful interview.
  • Favorable teacher referrals in Technology, Math, English or Science.
  • Favorable administrative referral.
  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Participation in Industry Tour, Job Shadowing Experience, Volunteer experience in related field, or reference letters (please gather this documentation and be prepared to present it at the interview or forward it prior to the interview).
  • Possible successful completion of an aptitude assessment regarding math, spatial and mechanical ability and communication.
