Do you know if you are listed as a Catholic School supporter? During municipal elections, it is important that you are registered as a supporter of Catholic education. Municipal elections are important to the future of Catholic Education and to Catholic families whose ongoing support is instrumental in the preservation and enhancement of the system.

Why This is Important:

• Voting Rights
  If you are Catholic and would like to vote for a trustee of the English Catholic school board, then you must indicate that you are an English Separate School Supporter when you receive your enumeration form.
  
  
• Record of Support For Catholic Schools
  It is a public record for the Ministry of the breadth of support for catholic schools. When you direct your support to the Catholic system, you are sending the government a powerful message. It is a way to communicate to the government that:
  1) you support Catholic schools in your community
  2) you want to see Catholic schools continue to exist
  3) you want equitable resources for your Catholic schools.
  
  
• Trustee Representation
  It is used to determine the number of trustees to be elected to represent your interests.

During municipal elections, you must be listed on the municipal tax rolls as a Roman Catholic separate school supporter in order to be able to vote for trustees of the Northeastern Catholic District School Board.

How To Find Out If You Are Registered Correctly:

• Call The Board Office
  Call the Northeastern Catholic District School Board at 1-877-422-9322 or (705) 268-7443 and we can look up the information for you.
  
  
• Request For Enumeration Information Card
  Check your Request for Enumeration Information Card received by mail. In the column titled 'Roman Catholic?', make sure the Yes box is checked. In the 'School Board Support' column, make sure the English-Separate box is checked.
  
  
• Property Assessment Notice
  Check that your Property Assessment Notice states English-Separate under the 'School Support Designation' area.

Have You Recently Moved?

Even if you have been a Catholic school supporter in the past, this designation DOES NOT follow you when you move. Each and every time you move, it is essential that you re-declare yourself as a Catholic school supporter.

Do You Have A Non-Catholic Spouse?

If you are Catholic, but your spouse is not, they cannot register as a Catholic School Supporter, but you still can. For more information on how to do this, please contact us.

What To Do If You're Not Registered Correctly
